If you think your pay does not match the hours you worked, the job you do, or the working conditions in the EU country where you are working as a posted driver, it is important to check what you are entitled to.

Your pay may include more than just your basic salary. In Slovakia, the minimum monthly wage for truck drivers in 2026 is 1048 euro or 1164 if you transport dangerous goods.

Depending on your work, you may also be entitled to:

• extra pay for night work, weekends, and public holidays,
• reimbursement of travel, accommodation, and meal expenses during business trips,
• overtime pay,
• other benefits agreed in your employment contract or a collective agreement.

If you work in international transport and are posted to another EU country, you may have the right to the pay and working conditions that apply in that country if they are more favourable than those in Slovakia. Be especially careful if your employer offers to pay you only based on the number of kilometres driven. Under EU rules, drivers must not be paid only by kilometres driven or the amount of goods transported if this could encourage unsafe driving or breaking the rules on driving and rest times. Your pay should never pressure you to drive longer, break the law, or put your health and safety at risk.
